Once Upon a time, there was Dolly Q.

Twenty odd years ago a 6 year old little blonde girl sat at her grandmothers on a Saturday afternoon, being Ballarat it was typically grey and rainy, this only child exhaled and stated… ‘I’m Bored’. Little did she know that what her grandmother did next would shape her for the rest of her life!
‘Here, sew’ the grand mother stated. And she did.

Danielle started sewing out of boredom but now designs and sews out of passion. Her days are filled with thoughts of fabrics, trim, silhouettes, textures, Thierry Mugler and Alexander McQeen.
Taking inspiration from historical fashion, fairy tales and film, she uses modern fabrics and the concepts that lurk in the darkest reaches of her mind to create, things of beauty.
Her mission is wearable glamour. To express externally what’s going on inside.
After trying her hand at everything from property management, hairdressing to bar management she has finally decided to return to her passion and launch her new label Dolly Q, lovingly named after her grandmother that taught her to sew.
